THE LATEST OFFERING FROM A WORLD RENOWNED FASHION MOGUL GETS US WINTER WEARY WANDERERS READY TO LEAP INTO SPRING

BY MATT MIZRACH

Famed Italian luxury designer Brunello Cucinelli has been known for his elegant, built to last apparel for nearly 40 years. His eponymous brand was founded in 1978 as Brunello Cucinelli SpA, and ever since has risen to international acclaim as one of the world’s most sought after and profitable luxury labels (Cucinelli’s personal net worth exceeds $1 billion). What many might not know, however, is that with this success came humility and magnanimity; not only are employees paid wages that are 20% higher than the industry average, but 20% of all company profits are donated to the Brunello and Federica Cucinelli Foundation and its mission of advancing the art, business, and spiritual principles of the territorial subdivision of Solomeo in the Province of Perugia, Umbria, in central Italy.

On display here is a piece from Cucinelli’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection a perfect representation of just how the designer maintains relevance in a marketplace that is continually changing and redefining itself. This classically inspired suede bomber jacket is brought into the 21st century with a playfully vibrant orange hue, its loudness draws attention while the luxurious suede calls to be taken seriously. Lightweight and water resistant, it will be the perfect go to piece for April’s inevitable showers.
