PSANJ a highly regarded cosmetic surgery practice with locations in New Brunswick and Princeton features a group of three board certified plastic surgeons who pride themselves on taking an integrated approach and using some of the most advanced methods of face and body rejuvenation.

“The hallmark of PSANJ is the patient experience,” said Dr. Philip Wey, one of the practice’s surgeons. “From the time you call for an appointment to the time you are in post operative, there’s always someone in the office there for you, who has your best interests in mind. They know who you are, they know why you’re there, and they’re happy to see you.”

Wey, who is consistently featured in the “Best Doctors” issues of New York and New Jersey Monthly magazines, is one of the nation’s leading experts in cosmetic breast surgery, according to Redbook magazine. He specializes in a range of aesthetic procedures, including breast enhancements, breast implants, breast reductions, liposuction, so called “mommy makeovers,” and facelifts. Since graduating from Dartmouth College’s medical school, he has compiled an impressive list of accolades and accomplishments. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey and a member of the Advisory Council for Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery.

After completing plastic surgery training at New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center and New York University, Wey pursued a fellowship in breast surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York. He is board certified by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He also a member of the Advisory Council for Plastic Surgery of the American College of Surgeons.

Although choosing the right procedure or cosmetic enhancement is among the most important decisions a patient will make, the doctors at PSANJ argue that selecting the right surgeon or specialist is equally crucial.
“I believe in a balanced approach to surgical treatment,” explained Dr. Naveen K. Ahuja, another board certified member of the surgical team at PSANJ. Ahuja’s approach to patient care combines compassion and education along with the latest surgical techniques, cutting edge technology, an aesthetic eye, and technical skill. “First, I listen closely to the patient’s concerns and desires,” he said. “Second, I educate prospective patients on the available procedures and technology. Then, together, we come up with an optimal treatment plan.

”In addition to being on the PSANJ team, Ahuja, a New Jersey native, is the Regional Site Director of the Rutgers NJMS Plastic Surgery Residency program. He has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals, and has been a contributing author on several books. His practice covers a broad range of surgical procedures, from adult cosmetic and reconstructive surgery to pediatric reconstructive surgery.

Just what are new patients looking for? Well, with around the clock access to news about the wealthy and the beautiful, it’s no surprise that requests often refer to a “celebrity look.” But whether the surgery is reconstructive or cosmetic, all patients seem to want the same aesthetic: natural.

Regardless of the areas that a patient wants to enhance the breasts, the body, or the face our patients want to look natural,” Wey said. “They don’t want to look like something they’re not.”

Dr. Kevin Nini the third member of the PSANJ team and also a noted author, lecturer, and nationally recognized “Best Doctor” by New York magazine is a leader in his field in the use of the most advanced surgical techniques and performs most procedures using small incisions. His minimally invasive approach allows patients to achieve this sought after natural appearance without setting themselves up for a long and difficult recovery.

Nini holds certifications from both The American Board of Plastic Surgery and The American Board of Surgery; he is also a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of numerous other professional societies. He’s been recognized as an expert in plastic surgery by New York, New Jersey Monthly, NJ Savvy Living, and Family Circle magazines, and has been repeatedly named a “Top Plastic Surgeon” in the New Jersey/New York Castle Connolly medical guide.

“We are extremely honored to be selected as among the Best Doctors in New York magazine,” said Nini of [health] his honor. “To be recognized by our peers is a true compliment.”

Even after more than 35 years of combined practice experience, surgeons at the practice look to learn the latest procedures in everything from breast reconstruction to cosmetic enhancements.

“Breast reconstruction is a big part of the practice. We work with about a half a dozen breast surgeons in five or six hospitals across central New Jersey,” said Wey. “We provide, I think, the newest and most novel options as well as the highest level of care.”

For example, PSANJ offers eligible patients pre pectoral breast reconstruction cutting edge surgery that requires a great deal of skill. “The procedure is much less painful and the recovery is faster,” said Wey. “Plus, the results are fantastic.”

The practice also offers the latest in fat grafting, a procedure during which fat is taken from one area of the body and injected into another, such as a breast. The appeal of this process is that it produces more natural looking results.

Patients can also explore a rejuvenation studio, where there are additional options many of them non surgical for improving their appearance, including Cool Sculpting, therapeutic skin care, microdermabrasion, laser treatments, Botox, Juvederm, and Voluma.

Wey strongly advises that before prospective patients pick up the phone to make an appointment, they do their home work, educating themselves about possible procedures.

“Read up on your doctor’s bio, on their training, on their level of expertise,” he recommended. “Patients should make sure a doctor is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and that he or she goes over a variety of options with them, even nonsurgical techniques.
