HARRY WINSTON CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF WATCHMAKING WITH ITS PREMIER DIAMOND SECOND AUTOMATIC 36 MM
BY ARCHANA AITHAL ROSE
Applying an array of iterations and technical updates to designs from its first timepiece collection in 1989, Harry Winston has released a masterpiece: the Premier Diamond Second Automatic 36mm. This megawatt example of arm candy, in rose gold, features a reflective blue sapphire dial with a contrasting mother of pearl crescent, wreathed in a dazzling array of 42 diamonds. The seconds counter, at the 6 o’clock position, boasts the recognizable Harry Winston cluster motif, and a single emerald cut diamond appears at the 12 o’clock position, recalling Harry’s favorite type of cut, producing what he referred to as “the king of diamonds.” A HW2201 Swiss automatic movement beats at a frequency of 28,000 vibrations per hour, and the watch provides 72 hours of power preserve. With its comparatively demure “blue pearl leather” strap and water resistance, this striking dress watch is a simultaneous force of fashion and functionality.
