A SHOW STEALER AT LOUIS VUITTON’S FALL/WINTER COLLECTION ROLLOUT EVENT, THIS EXOTIC LEATHER PACK IS AMONG THE WORLD’S MOST WONDROUS INDULGENCES

BY ARCHANA AITHAL ROSE

Louis Vuitton has been synonymous with luxury since the house’s earliest trunk designs. Founded in 1854, Vuitton introduced his flat topped trunks with signature trianon canvas in 1858, applying a process that produced a lightweight and airtight structure. (Before this innovation, rounded top trunks were the norm as they encouraged water runoff, but as a result could not be stacked). The brand did not shy from rich materials and virtuosic craftsmanship, either embracing excess as a utility.

Nothing embraces this quintessential “Louis ness” more than the backpack seen here. Crafted from a genuine (and rare) type of crocodile leather, and with a gorgeous cowhide leather trim its titanium grey hue is a signature shade of the maker’s fall/winter collection. It also features metal buckles and zips that contrast beautifully with the overall design. Unveiled as an accessory companion to ensembles at Vuitton’s fall/winter show, it became a scene stealer in its own right, and now ranks among the world’s most expensive packs.
