Creamy satins, colored timepieces, and cheerful couture behold some of the biggest trends this season

By Archana Aithal Rose

Never has there been a more desperate need for cheer, given the current state of worldly and national affairs, and kudos to designer Carolina Herrera for infusing her spring collection with a closet full of frolic. Models sashayed down the Fashion Week runway in sunshine yellow day dresses, polka-dotted skirts, denim dresses with hand painted rainbow buttons, gingham, polychromatic jackets, and Herrera’s signature white blouses. The devil was in the details, as usual, which meant poofy sleeves, big shoulders, cinched waists, and a lot of ruffling. If the world outside was blue, Herrera’s spring show was a rainbow room. carolinaherrera.com
