TIME TRAVELER
Year after year, Nicolas Ghesquière, the creative head of Louis Vuitton, has belted out awe inspiring collections that form the identifying aesthetics of the 165 year old French brand. This year, in the wake of a recently renewed contract with LV, the France born designer decided to introduce us earthlings to what lies beyond workaday humdrum style. Inspired by the virtual reality meme seemingly a prerequisite for this millennial era the collection was dotted with avant garde details like space suit sleeves, architecturally shaped silhouettes (including dresses in metallic florals), amplified graphic prints, and further innovations. Meanwhile, space capsule bags and other clever accessories gave a nod to travel; in fact, adventure punctuated much of Ghesquière’s collection, one that could be aptly described as out of this world.

Pushing the boundaries of fashion, designers have played with proportions in exaggerated frames. Whether in circles, triangles, or squares, stare into the summer sun this year with edgy, geometric frames that say you’re future ready.
