The rich tapestry of Italian heritage will be celebrated at Mount Loretto on Columbus Day Weekend with food, music, rides and games. The Italian Festival at the Mount will feature musical performances by Louis Prima Jr. (seen below) as well as the world-famous Giglio Band. Hosted by Catholic Charities of Staten Island and Borough President James Oddo, the celebration will include a beer and sangria garden as well as a range of food trucks and a cannoli eating contest sponsored by Alfonso’s Bakery. Midtown marvels
The Midtown Men reunites stars from the original cast of Broadway’s 2005 jukebox musical Jersey Boys, making it the first vocal group formed by the principal cast of a Broadway show. Now, the group is performing its show “Sixties Hits With A Modern Twist” at St. George Theatre. Tony Award winner Christian Hoff, along with Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard, and Tony Award nominee J. Robert Spencer will visit the St. George Theatre on October 13, singing hits from The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Four Seasons, and other legends. The Rocky Horror Picture Show the Tim Curry starring 1975 musical science fiction horror-comedy fi lm that has launched two generations of devotees and counting continues its fan tradition this year at the St. George Theatre, as patrons are invited to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of the cult favourite with a showing on October 26. Doors open at 9 P.M. for a pre-show concert by local zombie punk cabaret band The Flesh Junkies, with the fi lm to follow at 11 P.M.
