How a fitness and wellness entrepreneur is expanding her business via multi-platform media production

It’s a new day with a new name for firebrand Danielle Buccellato, the Monmouth County native who currently has two fitness studios under her purview. With locations in Hoboken and Red Bank, her re-christened Renaissance the Studio, (formerly Renaissance Pilates) is expanding, rebranding, and branching out.

Buccellato recently partnered with All Screens Media (ASM) to film online education for instructors, as well as consumer content for European modalities such as bodyART deepWORK, BAX, Staby, and io-Ball. All are taught at her Red Bank location, with Buccellato and her staff participating in the videos’ production. Plans are to bring talent from around the country and the world to her Red Bank location to produce additional fitness content.

Buccellato connected with former Comcast Vice President Peter Heumiller, CEO of ASM and creator of the ExerciseTV subscription business and other digital lifestyle content; Howard Sichel, founder of Power Pilates; and Denis Barry, who started the Power Hit Nation online workout. ASM, which focuses on fitness, health, and wellness, along with children’s “edutainment” and vocational training sectors, partners with global brands, educators, trainers, and manufacturers to develop online certification and education for professionals and workouts/classes for consumers.

“The partnership with Renaissance in Red Bank, now known as All Screens Media Productions [ASMP], will allow for online streaming to be offered seven days per week on a multi-level platform to a global audience,” Buccellato said. “I knew it was time to offer something more notable and unique in an effort to grow. I crafted my vision while seeking the most talented fitness instructors in the New York City area and beyond. What began as a mission became a journey.”

Buccellato and ASM will utilize Renaissance the Studio to develop and launch fitness subscription businesses, separate workout brands, fitness product demonstrations with workouts, and professional trainer and therapist certifications and workshops; all produced in multiple languages for global distribution.

ASMP will film fitness modalities from instructors for online purchase, she explained. Not only will the Renaissance team be able to expand its teaching opportunities in the process, but members of the worldwide fitness community will be able to travel to the Red Bank location to film content.

“Renaissance the Studio has now become an open oyster for film and production,” Buccellato said. “I cannot wait to share this new and exciting venture with the world.”

“Fitness media production is the future, and fitness training via personal devices is making great strides on a global basis, disrupting the traditional model of going to gyms,” Heumiller

said, citing companies like Peloton, Daily Burn, and BeachBody. “We are thrilled to have found Renaissance the Studio as our prime location to shoot the next generation of fitness content for worldwide devotees.”

The Red Bank location is a state-of-the-art, fully equipped Pilates studio (along with other fitness modalities) serving hundreds of students weekly. Offerings include yoga, flexibility training, barre-infused dance concepts, cardio strength movements, and bodyART by Robert Steinbacher. The studio currently offers more than 85 classes per week and caters to all levels and ages. Its original location, based in Hoboken, opened in 2004. The Red Bank location opened in 2014.

“Soon after I acquired the nearly 5,000-square-foot space in Red Bank, I knew that I had an aesthetic fitness haven to infuse visions of health and wellness within the community,” Buccellato said. When the realities of rent and overall business expenses impacted growth plans, Buccellato got creative and “thought outside the box” to bring her dreams to fruition. Hence, the new media venture.

A Monmouth University graduate, she has been a fitness enthusiast most of her life and aspired to a career in movement and biomechanics of the body, which led to teaching Pilates. She has been teaching professionally since 2002. Since then Buccellato has built a community of enthusiasts and instructors with a wide range of experience who have incorporated mind-body wellness into their lives at Renaissance.
