The no needle solution
Staying true to a goal of offering the latest in cosmetic dental trends, Dr. Anthony Vocaturo recently introduced the use of Kovanaze, a needle free anesthesia, to his NJ Smile Center practice.

“We’re the only dental practice on the East Coast using it,” noted the cosmetic and restorative dentistry specialist at the New Jersey Center of Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry in Bayonne. The practice, which specializes in smile makeovers, laser dentistry, and custom porcelain veneers, added the alternative as a quick and easy convenience for patients.

“It’s simple, painless, and effective,” Dr. Vocaturo said of Kovanaze (tetracaine HCI and oxymetazonline HCI) Nasal Spray an FDA approved no needle nasal spray that effectively numbs the majority of the upper teeth in preparation for dental restorations. While Kovanaze completely numbs the teeth, it does not numb the lips, gums, or cheeks, so patients can return to normal activities immediately.317 State Route 34, Unit 203, Colts Neck, njsmilecenter.com

E-Z BOTOX
In the beauty business, walk-ins are rare. In fact, appointments are often scheduled months in advance for facials, manicures…even blowouts. But, when Dr. Anthony Lombardi of Lombardi Plastic Surgery noticed an increasing demand for Botox services with clients squeezing treatments into packed daily schedules he decided to offer the quick, non surgical fix on a “no appointment needed” basis. “We introduced the Botox Bar a few years ago as a way to simplify patients’ lives,” Lombardi said. “Botox is the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the U.S., and it’s very simple and easy to inject. So, we carved out a special window of hours each day when clients could arrive on their own schedule and simply walk in and walk out. The Botox Bar epitomizes a 2018 approach to treatment.”

Lombardi and staff offer Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin at the bar. Approximately 10 injections are given per visit and results last about four months.

“It’s just another level of customer service,” Lombardi said. “It’s fast, it’s easy, and it’s affordable. We know how valuable clients’ time is; the Botox Bar is based upon this understanding.”32 Corbett Way, Eatontown, lombardiplasticsurgery.com

EXPANSION MINDED
After eight years as a specialty fitness destination, Matawan’s Pivotal Pilates is expanding. “We’re adding an additional 850 square feet and broadening our programs to include yoga for seniors, children, and those with special needs,” noted Susan Markowitz, owner of the studio.
“We’ll also be introducing barre fitness and some new Pilates mat variations,” adding that, though the facility already offered a range of group classes and private instruction, an expansion was needed to accommodate what she described as a membership that requires more than the typical gym experience.

“We deal with a population that is perhaps not as fit as the clientele you would find at a gym,” said Markowitz. “We focus on people who have spinal issues and rotator cuff injuries…those who need specific fitness instruction to work through an injury. This is a space where clients can feel focused on what they need to recover, renew, restore…invigorate. It’s where you can create the kind of body that’s fit for life.” 952 Route #34 Suite 206, Matawan, pivotalpilates.com
