Among the borough’s most veteran celebrities, the Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire star (and New York City fi re fighter from 1980 to 1984), now 60, was born in Brooklyn to sanitation worker and Korean War veteran John Buscemi and Howard Johnson’s hostess Dorothy (née Wilson). He now lives in a brownstone with his wife of 30 years, artist and filmmaker Jo Andres.
A longtime Brooklyn resident, Williams, along with the late actor Heath Ledger, were the owners of a large townhouse at the corner of Hoyt and Dean, but in 2015 she made the jump to Ditmas, buying a sprawling but well-worn eight bedroom mansion on Albemarle Road for $2.5 million. Her renovation application to the Landmarks Preservation Commission (the home is a historic structure) included plans to “alter the rear facade and porch, replace siding, and install HVAC units and fencing at the rear yard.”
DANIEL CRAIG AND RACHEL WEISZ:
After months of rumor that he was interested in a Kings County purchase, the 50 year old Bond fi lm lead and his movie star wife, 48, (the two were married in 2011) were reported in a March Brooklyn Daily Eagle article to be the buyers of writer Martin Amis and his wife Isabel Fonseca’s turn of the 20th century brownstone one that was badly damaged after a chimney fi re on New Year’s Eve of 2016. Its sale price was a reported $6.75 million, a relative bargain compared to Craig and Weiss’s $11.5 million 4,350 square foot Shoo (Manhattan) triplex penthouse at 20 Greene Street
The 47 year old Academy Award winner was reported by the Wall Street Journal in October to be under contract to buy a penthouse unit at The Standish in Brooklyn Heights, worth an estimated $16.45 million, which would have made it the most expensive sold residence in the borough at the time.
Though we may not have her in this neighborhood much longer as the 33 year old Girls star, according to brownstoner.com, is currently listing her four story single family townhouse for a reported $4.49 million this millennial darling is likely to stick close by. Though born in London, she was raised here in the city, adores the Hamptons, and her mom, Lorraine (née Dellal) Kirke is the owner of West Village vintage boutique, Geminola.
The 39 year old Avengers heartthrob (he plays Sam Wilson/Falcon) resides with his wife, Sheletta Chapital, and their three kids in a duplex condo. And, according to celeb site purewow.com, he’s also a skilled handyman (his father ran a roofing business in New Orleans) who completed many of the home’s upgrades and even some of its furniture.
