THE EVOLUTION OF BUSINESS WEAR

BY MICHAEL AND MATT DURU

There has been a noticeable shift in menswear over the past two seasons; iconic Italian makers and classic American brands alike are merging their tailored clothing with sportswear and presenting them as one collection.

This trend stems from an increasing number of men working from homes and shared work spaces. And fair enough, but just because a professional is operating out of the office doesn’t mean he is not working, or at least networking. e result is that tailored jackets as well as soft, unconstructed jackets worn with hybrid casual pants, jeans, and smart sport shirts are the new norm but they still need to be selected as carefully as the older styles.

Soft jackets with minimal canvasing, padding, or lining has been the biggest growth category in the industry these types often perceived as “cooler,” and are certainly easy to mix and match.

Creating the desired look takes a bit of e ort, but our stylists are happy to help you transition from business formal to business casual in one visit.
