GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI’S NEWEST LOAFER IS A WINNING BLEND OF FINE ARTISTRY AND BAD-ASS

BY KIMBERLY LANDAU

A former DJ motivated by an innate passion for design, fashion, and footwear, Giuseppe Zanotti weary of not being able to include the kind of exuberance and detailing he wanted while working for other houses started his own brand in the early 1990s and traveled to New York City in 1994 to present his first collection to select fashion editors and retailers. His designs represent a combination of a creative vision animated by the visual arts and rock and roll a synergistic outlook fueled most recently by collaborations with celebrities like Kanye West. Zanotti’s signature high-top sneakers and slip-ons in exotic materials like snakeskin, embossed leather, velvet, calf hair, and metallic foil are often embellished with gold zippers, studs, chains, and metal plates. They bridge high-end and street fashion to express a truly contemporary approach to luxury in men’s footwear.
