AN ASTONISHING $400 MILLION, THE SKY PENTHOUSE IN MONACO’S TOUR ODÉON INCLUDES FIVE FLOORS OF LIVING SPACE AND A WATER SLIDE THAT DESCENDS FROM A DANCE FLOOR

Though Antilia, a 27 story skyscraper home in Mumbai, remains the most expensive home in the world at a cool $1 billion, the most expensive new build out completed over the past year is, without question, this $400 million apartment in Monaco’s Tour Odéon. At 550 feet, the Odeon is the second tallest building on Europe’s Mediterranean coast (after Benidorm, Spain’s Gran Hotel Bali), and its most outrageous residence is the 35,500 square foot Sky Penthouse. By architect Alexandre Giraldi and interior designer Alberto Pinto, it occupies floors 45 through 49 and offers 360-degree views over the sea. One of its most wondrous highlights is an outdoor circular rooftop-sited infinity pool and deck, with a water slide that descends from a dance floor directly into the pool. This is Monaco’s first new skyscraper in decades, owing to strict zoning requirements, so the residence’s air of exclusivity is likely to continue indefinitely.

The layout includes five main bedrooms, bath interiors lined with marble and variously-hued semiprecious stones, and five kitchens (one on each floor). Multiple terraces feature vine covered walls, palm trees, and sculpture like glass walls.

According to Forbes and Monaco broker Edward de Mallet Morgan of Knight Frank, Odeon occupants are mainly European, Russian, and Middle Eastern.
“There’s nothing like [Tour Odéon] in Monaco nothing brand new, built to this quality, of this height, or with amenities to rival top hotels and other top developments in London, New York, and Asia,” de Mallet Morgan said.
