SET TO LAUNCH IN NOVEMBER, THE DISNEY+ STREAMING SERVICE OFFERS MORE THAN 500 FILMS AND TV SERIES

BY ARCHANA AITHAL ROSE

Conceived to rival its toughest competitor, Netflix, Disney’s own streaming channel, Disney+ is set for launch in November. An impressive lineup of content incorporates all of Disney’s movies (roughly 500, from studios like Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century Fox), and TV shows, including National Geographic productions. Adding to this extensive repertoire are two live-action Star Wars shows, select series from its Fox library, and a Marvel TV series focusing on characters like the Falcon and Scarlet Witch, along with 30 seasons of The Simpsons. Starting at $6.99 a month ($5.83 with yearly subscription), it’s nearly half the price of other streaming stalwarts, and will pair with devices like Roku and PS4, along with smartphones and tablets, allowing for unlimited mobile downloads.
