COMBINING THE ARTISTRY OF HIS SIGNATURE SARTORIAL STYLE AND THE GENTILITY OF HARD-WEARING IRISH ALPACA WOOL, RALPH LAUREN’S TRENCH MAKES A DAPPER STATEMENT
BY ARCHANA AITHAL ROSE
It’s not just another trench; Ralph Lauren’s new wool coat is practically a lesson in storytelling. Exclusively developed for the American atelier and tailored in Italy, this standout coat is constructed in a superior plaid wool designed by Magee 1866, a 5th generation Irish business that specializes in weaving. Regaling a history of hand woven technique that dates back more than 150 years, Magee 1866 wove the plaid in its Donegal mill with a contemporary Irish twist. Ralph Lauren then added distinctively luxurious touches to the double breasted trench in the form of genuine horn buttons, raglan sleeves, suede-covered buckled tabs at the cu s, and a storm flap.
