BREITLING SCORES AN EXCLUSIVE ALLIANCE WITH THE NFL FOR A STRIKING NEW TEAM SPIRIT COLLECTION

BY SAVANNAH VARGAS

Football fans can flaunt their team spirit in a panoply of ways, from classic garb like jerseys and ball caps to cashmere sweaters in Gotham green or Giants blue. But this season, legacy Swiss watchmaker Breitling is raising the bar on elevated fanfare with its stirring introduction of the all-new Chronomat NFL Collection. Earlier this year, Breitling unveiled the Chronomat Super Bowl LVIII Edition as a haute homage to one of football’s greats, former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Boomer Esiason (and a longstanding ambassador for the Swiss brand). The timepiece was limited to just 58 pieces, and rousing interest led Breitling to secure a long-term, exclusive licensing agreement with the National Football League to craft an entire line of spirited watches for all 32 teams.

Based on the watchmaker’s iconic stainless-steel chronograph design, the pieces will feature the team colors of each football club, plus the corresponding team logos on the 9 o’clock subdial. The caseback will boast the NFL logo and the “X in 104” designation. Each piece will boast all the Breitling signatures, from the raised rider tabs at the 15-minute marks and the easy-grip onion crown to the classic rouleaux bracelet and meaty 70-hour power reserve.

The limited-edition collection will be capped at 104 examples for each football house, an ode to the NFL’s 104th season.
