THIS RAPIDLY RISING STAR’S BESPOKE DESIGNS INVITE CELEBRITIES AND CUSTOMERS ALIKE TO CO-CREATE COUTURE

BY RHIANNA JONES

While historically in the fashion realm, a brand is venerated for its founder’s unique, unparalleled creative vision, but the true distinction of John Paul Ataker’s luxury house is its foundation in collaboration. Even the name derives from designer and Turkish native Numan Ataker’s family tree, recalling his childhood growing up in a family-run fashion business and paying homage to his grandfather and son’s name. From concept to creation, the entire supply chain was a family affair, bringing a diversity of visions to the fabric development, patterns, and tailoring. Bridging this collaborative ethos with Numan’s penchant for high-quality craftsmanship and appreciation for female sophistication anchors the elegance and artistry that is John Paul Ataker.

Every piece starts with the fabric. “I am classically trained as a tailor first and approach design with our unique fabrics that are created for each new collection.” This principal focus on textile creation drives the exclusivity of the RTW, evening wear, and cocktail line. Transforming through the brand’s signature silhouettes and tailored to the female form, his designs take flight and life on each client. With an intention to “allow the John Paul Ataker woman to feel her most feminine and empowered self,” the brand’s sculptural separates and voluminous gowns imbue the wearer with an old-world regality that reigns supreme from red carpets and special occasions to magazine covers around the globe.

These ethereal masterpieces have been worn by Carrie Underwood, Eva Longoria, and Chrissy Teigen, plus countless others who embody JPA’s aspiration of “exuding confidence, elegance, and feminine identity.” But the signature made to measure service invites clients to co-create their masterpieces, turning their personal concept into patterns, and reimagining the dress of their dreams. These “collaborations” create a new iteration of haute couture, giving women the freedom to channel their inner artist and put the vision in visionary.
