While the actual magic is made in small European workshops, the brand partners creatively with some of the biggest names in haute couture fashion, like Jean Paul Gaultier, Missoni, and Christian Lacroix. With over 250 showrooms in 55 countries, the company became well known for its iconic Mah Jong Sofa, created in the 1970s. Low to the ground and ideal for lounging, its component modules are easily moved, providing virtually limitless options for design. This Bohemian aesthetic inspired and iconic piece, designed by Hans Hopfer, encouraged a completely new way of organizing living spaces. Upholstered in simple, plain fabrics from the beginning, today it is “dressed” by and continues to inspire some of the world’s finest couturiers.
