READY TO SET SAIL THIS NOVEMBER, SEVEN SEAS GRANDEUR THE NEWEST SHIP IN THE REGENT SEVEN SEAS ROYAL FLEET IS COLLABORATING WITH FABERGÉ ON A LUXURY CRUISE AROUND EUROPE
BY ARCHANA AITHAL ROSE
Royalty approved jeweler Fabergé is famed for creating collectible bedazzled eggs that cost nearly as much as a small European town. Now, the haute house is set to team up with luxury cruise liner Regent Seven Seas on a voyage of a lifetime, featuring a multimillion dollar art collection on board. Headlining the collection is a rare objet d’art, dubbed the Journey in Jewels, the world’s first Fabergé egg that will live permanently at sea. This handmade beauty takes design cues from the iconic Fabergé winter egg circa 1913. Set on a foundation of ocean green, turquoise, and pearl, the jewel encrusted curio represents the hiding and harboring, the travel lust that exists within each of us. To experience the Journey in Jewels, guests will discover the fascinating world of Fabergé through guided tours and lectures conducted by Dr. Géza Von Habsburg, the brand’s curatorial director. Other highlights include jewelry making classes in the ship’s pop up boutique, held by Sarah Fabergé, the ship’s godmother and the great granddaughter of the brand’s founder, Peter Carl Fabergé.
