At 90 years old, Shirley MacLaine has done it all: dancing, singing, and most recently, stealing scenes in Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building. The dynamic actress, who has worked with everyone from Jack Nicholson to Frank Sinatra, also just penned an autobiographical book, coming out this fall.

The Wall Of Life: Pictures and Stories from This Marvelous Life, will share fascinating insights about her personal life: growing up with her brother, Warren Beatty, the advice Elvis Presley asked her for, and working on Broadway, along with behind the-scenes photos.

“About 45 years ago, I put ten or so framed photographs of friends, family, and people I’ve worked with all grouped together on a living room wall in my Malibu home,” MacLaine said. “Everyone who came over loved to look at this montage, and so ‘The Wall of Life’ was born. It has long been a stage for asking questions, and not just for visitors to ask me things, but for me to ask myself to get at a deeper truth, and to question my visitors and understand them more.”

GO FOR GOLD

Get ready to chuckle while watching the 2024 Summer Olympics, as comedians Kenan Thompson and Kevin Hart will premiere a new comedic sports commentary series on Peacock on July 26.

Olympic Highlights with Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson will feature a variety of hilarious insights, in-studio competitions, and chats while the Games are airing. The series will also be available on NBCOlympics.com and the NBC app via “TV Everywhere” for customers with paid TV subscriptions.

“We can’t wait to be a part of the Paris Olympics and help hype up the audience with highlights from the best moments of the Games,” enthused Hart, who in addition to being a co-host is also co-executive producing with Thompson.

“We’re going for gold, everybody!” Hart quipped. Added Thompson: “Kev and I are super excited to be part of the Paris Olympics by recapping performances from some of the world’s best athletes. Let’s go Team U.S.A.!”

DANCING SHOES

Remember disco music? PBS sure does, and this June, the network will premiere a new BBC Studios docuseries that educates audiences on the generation-defining genre. In the past, documentaries around the culture of disco music have proven popular with viewers (see MAX’s Love to Love You Donna Summer and The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart), so it’s no wonder there’s ample buzz for PBS’ Disco: Soundtrack of a Revolution.

“Charting disco from its inception and global domination to the violent attempts to end the genre, Disco: Soundtrack of a Revolution reclaims its roots,” said Sylvia Bugg, chief programming executive and general manager, general audience programming at PBS. “Before commercialization, discothèques belonged to the marginalized and the dispossessed, who tapped into the beat-driven music and the disco scene in a battle for community, identity, and inclusivity.”

TICKET TO PARIS

Emily in Paris lovers, rejoice! The high-style series is soon returning to Netflix for its fourth season. According to a YouTube teaser, Emily will say bonjour for part one on August 15 for a five episode arc, followed by part two on September 12. The cast Lily Collins, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, and Lucien Laviscount were asked for three words to describe the new season.

While words like “chaotic,” “heartbreaking,” “adventurous,” and “fashionable” were used, it was fan-favorite Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, who plays Sylvie, who brought the most intrigue. “Revenge,” quipped the French actress. “Emily finds herself with a busy travel schedule in Season 4,’” said creator Darren Star. “From the French Alps to the piazzas of Rome, viewers will vicariously experience amazing new locations through Emily’s eyes. Expect new characters, a lot more drama, romance, and a whole new language to try and master.”

RAMSAY ON A ROLL

Emmy-nominated super-chef Gordon Ramsay has produced dozens of cooking shows stateside and abroad, airing in more than 200 countries. Not only is he the only celebrity on air in the U.S. with five primetime shows: Next Level Chef, Hell’s Kitchen, MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, Kitchen Nightmares, plus the upcoming Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars. He’s also getting his own FAST channel on FOX’s streaming platform, Tubi.

FOX’s Hell’s Kitchen has already been renewed for its 23rd and 24th season, earning the crown as the longest running food competition on television.

“As my very first show on FOX, Hell’s Kitchen holds a very special place in my heart, and it’s incredibly gratifying to have it renewed for its 23rd and 24th seasons,” said Ramsay. “This show just keeps getting better and better, and with FOX, ITV, and A. Smith & Co. as my partners, you can expect even bigger challenges, stronger talent, and more intense competition in Hell’s Kitchen in the years to come.”

This time around, the show will be produced at Fox woods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, where one of Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen restaurants is located.
