BY MADELYN DAWSON

BORN: Fadil el Ghoul hails from Breda, Netherlands. SOUND: The 37-year-old DJ blends the past and future of EDM, breathing electro-house magic into all he does. “It’s always fun to bring the familiarity of an old record to a new crowd,” he said. BIG BREAK: After experimenting with music production via Cubase, R3HAB became a go-to performer in Breda clubs. In 2011, he released track “Prutataaa” with Afrojack, who signed the burgeon-ing superstar to his label shortly thereafter. He released his debut album, Trouble, independently in 2017, followed by sophomore album The Wave in 2018. The former has since garnered more
than 500 million streams. The Dutch/Moroccan DJ had his fi rst international hit the following spring, remixing German pop group ATC’s 2000 single “Around The World.” Following the platinum hit, he embarked on his global Around The World tour in 2019 and 2020.

NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: The Netherlands native has since worked across multiple genres, nations, and continents, connecting people through his music. DJ Magazine ranked him as the #12 DJ in the world in 2018. After that, he joined Dragon Entertainment and Liquid State to release music and tour, targeting his work to Asian audiences. He has worked with K-pop legends TWICE and EXO, and just last year he played the HYPEWORLD festival in Singapore. From collaborating with Zayn of One Direction fame to remixing tracks by Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and Steve Aoki, R3HAB is a wildly versatile artist with a true passion for his craft.
“At the end of the day, this is an inner motivation, fueled by the love of music and sharing energy with people
across the globe,” he said in an interview with BandWagon Magazine. LATEST WORK: R3HAB kicked off 2023 with a bang, releasing four singles in the first four months. His most recent floor filler, “Rock Your Body,” was released on April 28 and features German producers Sash! as well as Romanian singer Inna.

FUN FACT: In 2020, R3HAB teamed up with GATTÜSO to cover Radiohead’s “Creep” as the fi rst in a series of limited-edition Spotify mint singles releases. The track was later re-released on R3HAB’s own label CYB3RPVNK.
