REVOLUTIONARY CHINESE ARTIST ZHAO ZHAO BREATHES NEW LIFE INTO LOUIS VUITTON’S COLORFUL ARTYCAPUCINES COLLECTION WITH THIS GILDED LIMITED EDITION LEATHER BAG

BY ARCHANA AITHAL ROSE

Since its launch in 2013 as a tribute to the famous Rue des Capucines (the Parisian art and theater mecca), French luxury label Louis Vuitton’s Capucine bag has long been a valued accoutrement, crafted in ultra luxe materials. The bag has since acted as a blank canvas for the maison’s capsule collection Artycapucines, a collaboration with world renowned artists to create one of a kind creations that command a loyal army of obsessives. The latest to join the Artycapucines roster is Chinese artist Zhao Zhao, who designed a breathtaking PM bag made from 353 laser cut leather parts sewn together to form a funky, puzzle like pattern. Rendered in a mix of calfskin and cowhide leathers and transformed with silkscreen printing, high frequency embossing, and 3 D embroidery, the patchwork carrier blends art and science in brilliant hues of midnight blue, gold, and white. It’s finished with signature gold hardware, including the bold LV monogram, and boasts a roomy interior. The double carry style offers versatility with a black removable leather strap and a top handle.
