THE MERGER OF TWO ITALIAN CULINARY MASTERS PRODUCES KITCHEN LAYOUTS THAT MARRY MINIMALIST CHIC, HIGH TECH, AND ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS

Scavolini, one of the most respected names in Italian kitchen design for more than 50 years, has allied with Italian chef and television personality, Carlo Cracco, to produce a line of full kitchen layouts and components one intended to marry commercial class functionality with minimalist chic and ultra-cool palettes. The result, Mia by Carlo Cracco, is also noteworthy for its technological advances, “creating settings packed with innovation in order to achieve an increasingly memorable cooking experience,” Cracco explained in a press release, “wherein ingredients are treated with respect, and with less waste and lower consumption levels.”

Several layouts and appliance arrays comprise the line. Seen here is a Mia kitchen with a central island in dark steel and a two inch thick stainless steel worktop. The 1.2 inch thick snack area top is in Pietra D’Iseo Ceppo inspired by a type of Lombard stone. At the back, folding door larder units glass fronted, with a dark steel finish feature an aluminum frame and clear Stopsol glass. There’s also a customized Barazza oven with blast chiller and vacuum drawer in matte steel. For the center island, the monobloc is topped by a hood, along with storage compartments, a dish rack, and clear glass shelves. The hanging structure is likewise in dark steel finished aluminum, while the hood front is in clear Stopsol glass. Additional appliances include a vacuum drawer with a new marinating function and a food warming lamp.

In terms of broad styling, Mia by Carlo Cracco stands out in its contrasts: work areas and appliances are clad with a sturdy and hard wearing steel finish, while the kitchen cabinet doors are often rendered in warmer hues. The composition is further enhanced by wall paneling equipped with accessories designed for each model layout, such as a food warming lamp, a wall mounted bottle rack, and a utensil holder bar.
