EYE CANDY
A luxurious eye focused concept is debuting in American Dream this summer, blending an eye care clinic, high end eyewear boutique, bespoke product lab, and eventually medi spa services all under the same, ultra chic roof. Acuitis Iconic Eyewear is the brainchild of Amel Youssef, OD, an optometrist and New York native with a successful eye care practice in Las Vegas, who noted she’s thrilled to return to the East Coast to launch her brand’s flagship store. Licensed optometrists will be on site at Acuitis to perform adult and pediatric eye exams, and there will be a massive selection of eyewear from the world’s leading brands for both adults and the kiddos. “We have a very strong pediatric presence, which is something no one else in the area is really doing,” said Dr. Youssef. “Our computerized eye exams will be able to simulate exactly what the patient is seeing without glasses, which can be especially beneficial for kids who have no reference point. It allows the parents to visualize how much blur their children are experiencing.” Shoppers will have the opportunity to design their own styles in the on-site product lab, which can craft single vision glasses in 15 minutes. The store will also feature a digital component. Dubbed Eye Care Live, the online platform can generate an eyewear prescription for patients immediately.

CHILL OUT
The weather might be flirting with triple digit temps outside, but it’s always winter at Big SNOW and The Rink. The former is the country’s first and only year round, real snow ski resort. Skiers and snowboarders can hit the slopes via single and multi-day passes and packages, and there is a team of highly qualified instructors on site for beginners or those seeking to brush up on their snow shredding skills. If double axels are more your speed, hit the The Rink, an indoor, NHL regulation sized ice rink that offers public skating, figure skating, hockey tournaments, and events. After working up a sweat on the slopes or the ice, relax with a hot chocolate at Grisini St. Moritz coffee shop, a cozy après ski lounge next to The Rink overlooking the action on the slopes.
