AFTER A DECADE OF NATURALLY ASPIRATED V8 THRILLS, LEXUS BIDS FAREWELL TO ITS COUPE ICON WITH THE 2025 RC F FINAL EDITION A TRACK-TUNED TRIBUTE TO OLD-SCHOOL POWER

BY EVAN MONROE

In an age when performance is increasingly measured in kilowatts and lithium-ion cells, the Lexus RC F remains gloriously fossil-fueled and unapologetically loud. Introduced in 2014 as the brand’s answer to BMW’s M4 and AMG’s C63, the rear-wheel-drive coupe won the hearts of enthusiasts from coast to coast with its rumbling 5.0L V8, razor-sharp handling, responsive steering, and analog soul. For 2025, Lexus gives the RC F one final lap: a limited-run Final Edition that says goodbye the only way it knows how: fast and loud.

Available in just 150 units globally, the Final Edition gets the full carbonfiber treatment hood, roof, rear wing – along with a lightweight titanium exhaust that not only sheds pounds but amplifies the engine’s signature howl. Under the hood, the tried-and-true naturally aspirated V8 delivers 472 ponies and a 0–60 sprint of 4.2 seconds numbers that haven’t changed much, but were never really the point. This is a car for purists, not spreadsheet racers.

While its peers have long embraced turbochargers and torque-rich hybrids, the RC F doubles down on what made it lovable to begin with: a visceral driving experience. Lexus has sharpened the suspension for improved cornering and upgraded the Brembo brakes with carbon-ceramic rotors. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires come standard, as does an eight-speed automatic transmission with a track-ready Sport+ mode.

Outside, you’ll find two exclusive paint options: a deep matte Nebula Gray and an eye-popping Hakone Sunset, both paired with forged 19-inch BBS wheels and Final Edition badging. Inside, the cockpit gets Alcantara trim, serialized plaques, and special-edition stitching, but otherwise remains familiar: snug, driver-focused, and surprisingly refined.

Cellini Spread

As luxury automakers pivot toward electrification, Lexus is no exception (a performance EV concept is already in the works), but the 2025 RC F Final Edition stands as a love letter to a wilder era, a reminder that not all goodbyes are quiet. MSRP: $106,250.
