BY MADELYN DAWSON

BORN: Sandra Mariana Borrego Robles, known on the stage as Mariana Bo, was born on October 27, 1990, in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico.

SOUND: The hard-dance DJ and producer fuses deep, glitchy techno beats with the heavy resonance of violin lilting, making for electrifying and experimental live performances.

BIG BREAK: “My journey in music started when I was just a little child,” the 32-year-old musician told The Rakyat Post. “I was fueled by a deep passion for the art.” She spent her formative years studying classical music, performing and composing as a violinist. In 2011, she began her love a air with the turntable, and in 2015, she released her first original single “Light and Love,” which has since been streamed nearly one million times.

NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Mariana Bo is currently the highest ranking Mexican DJ on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list. Last July, she became the first Mexican performer to play Tomorrow land, the world’s largest electronic music festival. She has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in EDM, including Tiêsto, Timmy Trumpet, Martin Garrix, and Steve Aoki. Limits, for Mariana Bo, do not exist; as her sound constantly evolves and pushes forward, so does she, breaking barriers and shattering expectations.

LATEST WORK: In 2022, the DJ unveiled her own booking agency, ARES, in e orts to spotlight Latin talent in the electronic music world, reflecting her connection to her culture and community. She called this new project, “A dream that is just beginning. We are going to make history.”
