inspired by travels to sicily and greece, Oriana Lamarca’s jewelry pieces are chic, yet easygoing

International jewelry and accessories designer Oriana Lamarca has sparked the hashtags #addictedtoarmcandy and #armpartyinparadise, nods in part to her bracelets being stacked to create a vibrant fashion statement. Her collections are often inspired by her travels around the globe, including trips to St. Barths, Greece, and Miami.

Lamarca has been designing jewelry since 2011, and her designs have been worn by the likes of Pia Toscano of American Idol fame and Theresa Giudice of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Her line of stackable bracelets features semi-precious gemstones, and now offers a maternity line, bridal line, men’s line, and necklaces.

Lamarca’s style has also been influenced by summers spent in her ancestral Castellammare Del Golfo, Sicily, and more recently by her nuptials in Taormina, Sicily. Looking through the collection, one sees red coral from that region, black lava inspired by Mt. Etna, turquoise as a representation of the Mediterranean, bright yellow, green, and orange jade, and millefiori inspired by the hand-painted pottery popular in the region.

Currently the designer is working on designs for a fall collection, which will feature some of the season’s hottest Pantone colors, such as brown aventurine, teal jade, marsala jade, and rose quartz.
Perhaps the biggest recent news is the introduction of a line of velvet chokers that will be a deft complement to the #armparty style.

Wondering how to style the look? If taste runs to a classic, conservative feel and you love black and white, the black onyx and white howlite piece would be a starter bracelet. If the wearer is a little more easy going but appreciates occasional pops of color, the amazonite, opalite, and rose quartz is a good bet. If the desire is to wear a piece every day without having to worry what colors will go with what? Try “My Everyday Armparty,” which is a combination of black onyx, rose quartz, white howlite, and amazonite.

Lamarca said that her philosophy is “It’s all in the way you accessorize—you can take a simple pair of jeans and a tee shirt and make it feel more elegant with a statement necklace/choker, a nice bag, a pair of heels and of course the perfect armparty!”

The Resort 2017 collection, in the works, is inspired by a nearby beach getaway. The jewelry line “Hamptons Chic Collection” will have a nautical feel, characterized by shades of blues and reds (Lamarca reports that she loves vacationing in the Hamptons, where she is able to tap into the area’s stylish yet laid-back vibe).
