THIS NEWLY OPENED TINTON FALLS MEDICAL SPA OFFERS AN EXTENSIVE MIX OF NON-SURGICAL, AESTHETIC, AND WELLNESS TREATMENTS FOR THE FACE AND BODY

Dr. Michael Ellis has always harbored a deep-rooted interest in health and wellness. Trained in internal medicine, he completed his undergraduate degree in kinesiology at Penn State University and worked as an exercise physiologist for a local physical therapy office before attending medical school at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing his medical residency in internal medicine at Saint Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, he began his career as a hospitalist at Hackensack Meridian Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. Though he appreciated the time he spent at the hospital, the doctor felt compelled to do more.

“I loved my job but I had this desire to help people in a different way,” said Dr. Ellis. “So while I was still working as a hospitalist, I began training in and practicing aesthetic medical procedures. I just felt that these cosmetic techniques were a different use of medicine. It allowed me to make people happy and help them feel comfortable in their own skin.”

After working as a frontline medical provider at Saint Mary’s Medical Center in Passaic, one of the hardest hit areas during the first six months of the pandemic, Dr. Ellis made a decision to shift his focus from inpatient medicine to aesthetic medicine as the local outbreak began to subside. In August 2020 he opened Keep Glowing Medical Spa in Tinton Falls.

“Starting this spa during COVID was rough to say the least,” acknowledged the doctor. “I had to work extremely hard to get the word out and continuously share news about the new and innovative treatments we were offering. About four months in, business really started to explode.”

With a sweeping menu of cosmetic procedures, including facial rejuvenation, acne and scar treatments, non-surgical lifts, body contouring, laser skin tightening, injectables, regenerative medicine, and more, the mission of the med-spa is to provide clients with the best, latest, and most effective treatments.

“We provide the most extensive non-surgical aesthetic and wellness treatments in Monmouth County,” said Dr. Ellis, detailing how he developed the Sandro Lift procedure using the Sandro Dual Hybrid laser created by Wontech.

One of the only medical spas in the Northeast to use LIPOcel, an FDA cleared tool used for the permanent subcutaneous destruction of fat, Keep Glowing prides itself on offering a no-downtime, non-invasive, pain-free alternative to liposuction.

“The treatment causes immediate fat destruction and gives you immediate, measurable, and visual results,” explained Dr. Ellis. “We can treat almost any area on the body below the neck and eliminate stubborn pockets of fat.”

Utilizing his extensive hospital experience, Dr. Ellis continues to explore the limits of all his treatment devices and is developing some of the latest treatment protocols on the market. In addition to serving as owner and medical director of Keep Glowing, the doctor also serves on the board of directors for Advancing Health Quality Alliance of Richmond, a partnership with Stellar Health and local accountable care organization with a goal of incentivizing healthcare providers to promote value-based care to help close the gaps in patient care and reduce healthcare expenditure. He also serves as a lead investigator for Wontech and MD360, exploring the capabilities of the Sandro Dual and LIPOcel devices.

With restrictions lifted and the summer season in full swing, business at the med-spa is soaring, noted the doctor, and he has increased his staff over the past several months and is already in the process of expanding Keep Glowing to a second location.

“It’s my goal to continue to educate my clients on medical procedures and provide them with the knowledge and tools to achieve their aesthetic goals,” he said. “At Keep Glowing we treat every client with kindness, compassion, and respect and have developed a comfortable, judgment-free destination for treatments and services.”
