Industry Magazine: How did you get started modeling?
Kim Wolverton: My older sister had been modeling for a few years, so she was my gateway into the industry, as she taught me the ropes and hooked me up with some of the agencies she was signed with as well as clients she worked with regularly! I am so thankful to have her as that role model for me.

IM: Tell us about some gigs you’ve done.
KW: One of the coolest jobs I did was a few years ago for the newest version of Conair’s blow dryer at the time for InStyle magazine’s Instagram account. There were two different shoots/sets included in this job. The first was three different hairstyles and looks that represented different decades including a “70’s Farrah Fawcett” look, a “90’s grunge” look, and a current “today” look. On camera, the hair and makeup artists changed my hair and makeup from look to look and this was captured by taking hundreds of still shots that got put together to look like a video. On the other set, I had to lay with my back on the floor and feet perched up on the wall with a stool under my bottom to give the impression that I was sitting on the stool from the point of view of the ceiling, which is where the camera was set up. Again, hundreds of photos were taken for the illusion of a video; (for) each photo, my hair was moved slightly to look like my hair was whipping over my head from wet to dry. My back was in pain by the end of that one, but it was worth it because it came out so cool! You can check the videos out on my Instagram – @kimwolv.

IM: What is your favorite thing about the fall season?
KW: Football season – Go Giants!!!

IM: Does your background influence your look?
KW: My ethnicity is mostly Irish and Italian.

IM: Where are you currently living?
KW: I live in Little Falls, NJ.

IM: Tell us about your career.
KW: I have been a full time registered nurse for a little over three years now. I started working at a busy inner city hospital on a neurology floor. However, recently I have transitioned into the aesthetic field as a nurse injector at Altman Aesthetics in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. I love being a nurse because there is so much versatility in this career. I am currently working in both the hospital setting as well as the plastic surgery office.

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to take a crisis response travel contract at a different hospital on an all COVID floor. It was scary as I was placed at a hospital in the county that had the highest recorded number of cases and there was so much that we did not know about the virus at that time. It was a grueling several weeks and I worked with some of the sickest patients I have ever encountered and saw more deaths than I saw in my entire nursing career up to that point. I am thankful for my own health and so proud of all my coworkers for fighting through this pandemic. My heart goes out to all (of) the families who have lost a loved one during this crazy time.

IM: What do you hope for your future?
KW: With hard work and dedication, I hope to develop into a master injector and excel in the aesthetic world.

IM:What are a few of your favorite things?
KW: The beach, a really good workout, music (all genres), spending time with family and friends, and animals.

IM: How would you describe your personality in 3 words?
KW: Hard-working, kind hearted, silly.

IM: What did you always want to be when you were growing up?
KW: I honestly had no clue what I wanted to do when I grew up. As a kid, I did know that whatever path I chose, I wanted it to include helping others.
