FUCHSIA FOREVER
Pink hot, electric, pulsing pink was the inspiration for Italian luxury brand Valentino’s Fall-Winter ‘22 collection. “The color of freedom, individuality, curiosity, and invention,” explained Maison Valentino to justify the choice of color. Crafted in collaboration with the Pantone Color Institute, the Valentino Pink PP has already made history. The brand’s creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, saturated the collection in shades of feisty fuchsia from head to toe. A genius move, considering the absence of contrast made it easy for the creative nuances to shine, timeless details that are synonymous with the atelier’s craftsmanship, like expert tailoring and the use of rich textiles. Thigh skimming wool minis were paired with detailed jackets, sequin bottoms were juxtaposed with boxy oversized blazers, and ankle-grazing winter coats complemented a plethora of sexy sheer blouses, all drenched in the Barbie hue. The collection’s structured dresses were undeniably the trailblazers, flaunting interesting cutouts and fl oral embellishments. valentino.com

SMALL PLEASURES
Ready to snag the it bag of the century? Bottega Veneta paid homage to its heritage with the recent reintroduction of one of its signature bags, the Bottega Cabat, only this time as a mini. The original Cabat was a 250-run limited edition bag, each plated and numbered, featuring the brand’s signature Intrecciato weave. Designed by BV’s former creative director Tomas Maier and released in 2001, the Cabat’s shopping basket-style aesthetic has been perfected with avant-garde techniques over the years. The coveted new mini echoes the Cabat’s original form, combining the intricate process with the mini-bag trend in luxe lambskin, finished with a detachable, tonal shoulder strap and an interior zipped pocket. Our vote is for the True Green option as a cheeky nod to BV’s signature hue. $4,500, bottegaveneta.com
