LOUIS VUITTON JUST UNVEILED A FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND APARTMENT CONCEPT IN SINGAPORE, A MEMBERS-ONLY RETAIL HAVEN WITH SWISH, STYLE, AND SWANK
BY ARCHANA AITHAL ROSE
Nestled in Singapore atop Louis Vuitton’s largest dedicated women’s boutique in the Ngee Ann City shopping hub, this novel apartment concept is a lavish shopping retreat that caters exclusively to the brand’s VIC (very important clients). Upon entering the exquisite, French-style apartment, guests are immediately welcomed by an artful display of LV’s iconic trunks suspended by hot-air balloons, reflecting the brand’s spirit of wanderlust. They are then invited to explore the maison’s heritage through archival pieces like the hand-painted Monogram Hat Trunk from 1924, before moving into the elegant Main Hall, conceived by famed French designer Stéphanie Coutas.
The inclusion of three private salons introduces an air of intimacy, facilitating custom-tailored shopping experiences steeped in luxury. Elements of Singaporean culture have also been incorporated into the space through thoughtful details like meticulously crafted frangipani trees adorning the Main Hall as an ode to the island’s nickname, the Garden City. (Every leaf and stalk was painstakingly shaped by hand on site.)
The second salon, dedicated to LV’s men’s collection, features a Damier plaster wall, a custom carpet inspired by ocean waves, and Paldao wood cabinets. The third salon, reserved for high jewelry and timepieces, is accented with a beautiful Budri stone table, a vintage 1970 chande lier, and vibrant artwork by American artist Julia Powers.
