A National Historic Landmark, Green-Wood is an active cemetery, a cultural institution, and a nationally-recognized arboretum. Over 300 supporters gathered for its annual “Gala for Green-Wood,” during which guests were treated to specialty cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before a seated dinner. From the podium, Gala Committee members Carla Shen, Bevin Cline, and Lark-Marie Anton greeted the guests. Green-Wood’s director of horticulture, Joseph Charap, presented the first ever Barry Commoner Award for Environmental Leadership to the BrightView landscape management company. The 12th annual presentation of the DeWitt Clinton Award for Excellence was made by Earl Weiner to his fellow Green-Wood trustee, Sam Sifton.
