SINGER/MODEL BELLA BARBARO WAS BORN FOR BOTH THE CAMERA AND THE STAGE

INDUSTRY: How did you get started modeling?
BELLA BARBARO: When I was about 14, I won a singing contest in my town and the prize was a photoshoot with a photography company. I had such an amazing time picking out outfits and being in front of the camera, and I loved how the pictures turned out. I knew from that day, I would want to get into modeling for different types of clothing brands.

IM: Tell us about some gigs you’ve done.
BB: One of the best things I have done was I had the honor of being on Love Island USA season 4, and it was such an incredible experience and something that I will remember for the rest of my life. The show has gotten even bigger since I was on it, and to be able to say that I am a part of that franchise means so much to me.

IM: What is your favorite thing about the summer season?
BB: What I love about summer is the endless fun. The weather is beautiful and with that, there’s always something to do, whether it’s the beach or a beautiful warm sunset dinner outside, or a backyard BBQ with a gorgeous drink in hand. Everyone’s always happy in the summertime and it’s amazing energy.

IM: Does your background influence your look?
BB: I am 100% Italian. I was raised to be very old school and respectful, and that definitely comes into my looks: I love a simple and sexy, yet classy, look.

IM: Where are you currently living?
BB: I was born and raised in Long Island, New York.

IM: Tell us about your career.
BB: Not only do I model, but I’ve also dabbled in singing and songwriting since the age of 12. My singing career has been through many ups and downs. At the age of 15, I was put into a girl group of five girls, and I even graduated high school early at 17 to pursue music with the group. We performed and traveled all over and had many amazing opportunities. At the age of 18, I left that singing group due to being bullied and it was very mentally draining. I continued to model and sing as a solo artist, and then at 22 I was flown out to be on Love Island USA, which helped my platform grow. Since then, I’ve still been doing modeling gigs and performing music.

IM: What do you hope for your future?
BB: I have done so many amazing things that I’m truly so grateful for, and I hope that many more opportunities come my way, but mainly I hope to always be happy while doing the things I love most.
