BELLINIS AND BITES
Cipriani, the legendary Venice-born restaurant with locations in many of the world’s most prestigious cities, from London, Hong Kong, and Dubai to Manhattan, Miami, and Monte Carlo, recently landed in Beverly Hills, marking its first West Coast address. The dual-story space serves original founder Giuseppe Cipriani Sr.’s world-famous Bellinis and beef carpaccio, alongside a platter of Italian specialties like rigatoni alla Bolognese, tagliardi with black truffle, veal Milanese, and seared scallops with veggie Julienne and saffron. The space, designed by Florentine architect Michele Bonan, features polished wooden interiors accented with steel trim, brown leather chairs, Murano chandeliers, black and white fashion photography, and deep green velvet accents. There’s also a 98-seat jazz club upstairs. 362 N Camden Drive, cipriani.com
CATCH ME IF YOU CAN
The best new ice cream in Los Angeles this summer is not at a scoop shop, but rather from a retro ice cream cart that could have rolled right off a Wes Anderson set. Gelino’s has all the classics vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate cookie along with more creative flavors like challah French toast with maple ripple and butter pecans, and “What a Mintsch” garden mint ice cream with chocolate covered honeycomb, that pay homage to ice cream maker Josh Buckwald’s Jewish heritage. Follow along on Instagram @gelinosicecream to see where they are popping up next everywhere from art galleries to hotels. You can also book the cart for private events. gelinosicecream.com
