GOLD STANDARD
The buzz surrounding the Standard’s first residential property, the Standard Residences in Midtown Miami, continues to mount ahead of its 2025 opening. The Juvia Group, the hospitality collective behind several swanky dine-and-drink concepts in South Florida and the Caribbean, recently announced its latest concept, the 6,000-square-foot Solana, tucked into the 12-story property’s lushly landscaped rooftop. The Standard’s 60-foot rooftop pool and yellow-and-white cabanas will sparkle in the distance as guests sip bubbly cocktails under a garden of hanging botanicals. There will also be a Riviera-inspired menu featuring the Juvia Group’s signature European bites. 3100 NE 1st Avenue, thestandardmiamiresidences.com
NEO KID ON THE BLOCK
Just this January, the Miami Design District debuted a dizzying new retail concept that introduces emerging labels from around the world to the Miami market, from Peruvian swimwear to NYC streetwear. Dubbed Neo, the swanky 7,200-square foot pop-up features a rotating roster of designers every month. Tenants are given free rein to curate their space, offering shoppers a dynamic and immersive buying experience in the city’s retail hub. Past participants include Grace Gui, Optimistic Adolescence, Stolen Stores, and Up 2 Something Studios. 35 NE 40th Street, miamidesigndistrict.com
SAVE ME A SEAT
Miami’s latest omakase experience is a sleek, hip-hop–tinged countertop in Midtown. Chef Nando Chang serves creative Nikkei cuisine (Japanese-Peruvian fusion) in Itamae AO, a spin-off of Itamae, which closed its doors last year. Diners fill an intimate ten-seat counter to feast upon a multi plate parade of dry-aged fish, sashimi, ceviche, noodles, anticuchos, aguadito, and more in honor of the chef’s family’s pilgrimage from China to Peru. Think Muchame accompanied by swordfish, tomato, and beans, and soba noodles topped with minced spot prawns. There’s also a selection of sakes, shochu, Japanese whiskies, and curated wines to accompany the eight courses. It’s one of the moment’s most interesting spreads in the city. 3225 NE 1st Avenue, itamaeao.com

A short 30-mile drive south into Miami’s heartland culminates in Schnebly Winery, the Southernmost winery in the country and a spectacular way to spend a sun-soaked summer afternoon. Surrounded by leafy palms and natural coral waterfalls, the 96-acre property thinks outside the grape and is the only vineyard in the country that exclusively crafts wines from tropical fruits like pineapple, passion fruit, carambola, guava, avocado, mango, and more. Be sure to try their signature lychee pour, a full-bodied white similar to a Gewürztraminer, in the 5,000-square-foot, plantation style tasting room while nibbling on a charcuterie board or calamari. There’s also an on-site restaurant and brewery, plus daily tours, too. 30205 SW 217th Avenue, Homestead, schneblywinery.com
