MODERN MEDITATION

The DEN Meditation, an experiential wellness brand, is partnering with The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills to offer new wellness experiences to both hotel guests and local Angelenos. From full moon sound baths, meditation, and breathwork to somatic movement, Reiki, and ecstatic dance classes, all experiences will be led by veteran practitioners, meeting each individual where they are on their wellness journey. The London West Hollywood will be The DEN’s first semi-permanent residency since pivoting from flagship studios to its versatile Wellness on Wheels model. Classes will be available at a complimentary rate to hotel guests and prices start at $25 per session for all other participants.

DTLA DARLING

Nicole Spread

STILE Downtown Los Angeles by Kasa is a new apartment hotel in the theater district (formerly the Ace Hotel) with touchless check-in and a virtual front desk available by text. There’s no valet or on-site parking, which can prove challenging, but the building has coin-operated laundry, a gym, lobby café serving locally roasted MoonGoat coffee, rooftop wine bar, and outdoor pool. Décor is eclectic industrial chic, with weathered concrete beams, leather and wood rocking chairs, animal hide rugs, SMEG refrigerators, and clawfoot tubs. Korean sheet masks are a thoughtful touch after a long travel day. The presidential suite boasts surround sound bluetooth speakers and a spacious terrace for entertaining with downtown skyline views.

A STAR IS BORN (AGAIN)

The reservation is not only famously difficult to secure – and once you do, be ready to spend upwards of $1,000 per person if you opt for the alcohol pairings – but a seat at Somni promises a truly special, unforgettable special occasion experience. After shuttering its doors in the early pandemic era, the elegant super-spot was resurrected late last year in West Hollywood. The space is lovely and intimate, comprising two curved counters with just six and eight seats, where Chef Aitor Zabala serves a 20-plate tasting menu of beautifully conceived Spanish modernist delights, from mussels atop an escabeche emulsion to beets hiding under a bouquet of edible flowers. Each moment of the experience is intentional, and everything from the cabinets to the table wares were custom made.

MOROCCAN ON SUNSET

Newly opened Kasbah brings deeply authentic Moroccan food to a truly glamorous setting in Hollywood, hidden within Members club and restaurant. Enjoy a family-style feast with a colorful array of Moroccan mezze, tagines, and harissa soup, then spend the evening dancing the night away in the newly renovated nightclub. The restaurant occupies the former Dar Maghreb space, and Chef Rachida Mahzuz enchanted owner Thomas Fuks with her home cooked Moroccan meals in Los Angeles. This is her first foray into cooking professionally. “Our patron is looking for a decadent and transportive experience,” Fuls said. “From food to drinks to entertainment.”

SPREAD YOUR WINGS

Since debuting a major $75 million transformation in November 2024, The Natural History Museum is now home to a new 60,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor wing designed by Los Angeles-based Frederick Fisher & Partners and Mia Lehrer’s Studio MLA, strengthening the museum’s connections to the community in Exposition Park. See Gnatalie, a 75-foot-plus-long green-boned sauropod. Get up close to L.A. artist Barbara Carrasco’s landmark mural, L.A. History: A Mexican Perspective, and see an exhibition of notable specimens found by local community scientists and collected and researched by the museum’s own scientists.
