Low maintenance is the theme of the season, and beauty trends are embracing elements of fresh, natural, clean, and effortless glamour

The sun-kissed glow is a mainstay of summer, but too many days by the shore can also leave the skin thirsty, irritated, and blemished. As the days become shorter, erase the sun’s effects (but leave the memories) with a Fire & Ice facial, often called the red carpet facial. This celebrity-loved treatment begins with an intensive resurfacing masque to heat up and detoxify the skin, exfoliating away dead skin cells. Next comes the ice, a cooling mask of aloevera, hydraulic acid, and green tea, which melts into the skin to create a calming, soothing effect. The result is refined texture, a reduction in those pesky summer blemishes, and softening of fine lines and wrinkles.

The brows are the focal point of the face, and oftentimes one of the first features a person will notice. They frame the eyes, offer length and definition, and have the power to even out little imperfections like small eyes. And with natural makeup taking over as a major trend this fall, it’s even more important to prep your brows to be the star of the face. Fluffy and full is the look to achieve, and for those of us not blessed with Cara Delevigne brows (or spent the better part of our teen years with a tweezer in hand), there is the holy brow tint. Tinting uses a safe, semi-permanent dye to darken your brows for up to eight weeks, and it can also be used to provide shape and definition. It will slowly fade as your brows naturally shed, and unlike other brow procedures, it’s completely pain free.

The perfect matte lip, with its razor sharp angles and clearly defined edges, will never go out of style, but this season we’re seeing a shift toward a softer side enter blurred lips. Rather than definitive lines, blurred lips favor a blended, slightly smudged look, like stains from a popsicle. Bonus: they are much easier to maintain throughout the day. Achieve the look by applying a lipstick or liquid lip color with a fluffy eye shadow blending brush to build layers of pigment for an effortless, lived-in effect.
