IN FULL PLUME
For his 2007 wedding, Ben Ross wanted an alternative to the traditional groomsmen gifts, so he handcrafted a set of turkey feather bow ties for the men in his wedding party. This led to co-founding the avant garde accessory label, Brackish, with his business partner, Je Plotner, and the pair have created a range of plumed bow ties that have now graced many a celebrity red carpet event. Part of their style mission honoring the natural beauty of South Carolina, its team of artisans hand selects every feather incorporated into Brackish’s remarkable designs. Resulting ties are, in every sense, one of a kind pieces that push the boundaries of hip accessorizing, and, as the makers explained, “everyone is a sustainable work of art.”
