ONE OF ELETRONICA’S FASTEST RISING STARS (AND THE HIGHEST NEW ENTRY ON DJ MAG’S TOP 100 LIST THIS YEAR), ITALIAN-AMERICAN DJ, PRODUCER, AND VISUAL WARLOCK ANYMA WILL FINISH A WILDLY SUCCESSFUL YEAR WITH THE LAS VEGAS SPHERE’S FIRST DANCE MUSIC RESIDENCY

BORN: Matteo Milleri was born on May 19, 1988, in New York City.
SOUND: Brightly colored, pop-focused techno and house music, with occasional interesting forays into darker, more experimental sounds like ambient electronica and even classical tunes.
BIG BREAK: Having already become a dance music star as one half of the duo Tales of Us (which DJ Mag named as one of the 100 best alternative dance DJs in 2018), Milleri created his solo project, Anyma, with an eye toward creating a more powerful multimedia kind of art. In 2021, he released his debut EP, Claire, on Rose Avenue Records. In 2023, Anyma released his first long-player, Genesys, with an all-star guest list of new collaborators, including CamelPhat, Seydaliza, Chris Avantgarde, Cassian, and the artist’s new girlfriend (in a public sense, at least), Grimes.
NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: In addition to featuring fascinatingly tuneful collaborations with Janus Rasmussen and Delhia de France, Anyma’s Claire created an historic first when the title track brought forth the world’s first full-size and full-definition NFT music video. Anyma is the first-ever electronic artist to headline the world-famous Sphere in Las Vegas, a perfect complement to the technological capabilities of the iconic venue. In addition to the sparkling dance music, the Anyma residency offers real three-dimensional visuals, the kind of multi-media experience that drove Milleri to create Anyma in the first place. Befitting this special first, Anyma shared the news with his three million Instagram followers via a brilliant video of a humanoid opening the dome walls of the Sphere and bestowing a sky-brightening orb of pure light.
LATEST WORK: Fortunately for the millions of Anyma obsessives, his Sphere residency has yet to begin. The initial residency was set to take place from December 27 through New Year’s Day, but the ticket sales were so immediately impressive that he added two more days, January 10 and 11. It’s estimated that over 100,000 people will see Anyma’s residency before it’s over. No word yet on the number of Grimes sightings, though.
