MANHATTAN BASED MISS CIRCLE AIMS FOR THE HAT TRICK OF COMBINING AMPLE SEX APPEAL, TAILORED SILHOUETTES, AND UPSCALE GLAMOR

The label headquartered in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood and with Isabel Deng as its visual guru and CEO, Miss Circle aims to combine unabashed form fitting allure with fullbore romanticism in its gowns, jumpsuits, jackets, swimwear, and accessories. Its fashion mission was inspired, a company statement explains, “by the perfect curves that we believe belong to all women. Our dresses are for the empowered who love their bodies who are not afraid to embrace who they are. We strive to be a place that spoils women that shows them love by providing show stopping and high quality pieces that exude beauty, fun, sexiness, and confidence. For us, the fun of design mixed with our desire to empower women never ends.”

The label received a boost in 2018 when Ashanti who became the first female artist to occupy the top two positions on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 2002 and has since gone on to win eight Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards, and a Grammy became its most prominent public face. The singer, songwriter, and producer also co-developed a line with the brand, Miss Circle x Ashanti, a 21 piece collection that includes bon con dresses, jumpsuits, and separates.

In describing the new line, Ashanti, observed that, “My music brings about so many different emotions. At times I’m vulnerable, and other times I’m sexy, and think that women have a right to express all of that in ne threads. It’s a lifestyle,” adding that “I hope women feel inspired to be con dent and fearless in this very male dominated world. I also want them to know that they can do anything they put their minds to, and look fashionable and fabulous while doing it.”

New pieces include a Cold Fire Orange Flared Legs Long Sleeve Jumpsuit and the Get Away Green Ruched Mesh Dress (both in stretch crepe), as well the It Girl One Sleeve Black Blazer Jacket with invisible zipper, which can be paired with Miss Circle pants or a body con skirt. Two of Deng’s most remarkable new designs are the Rise and Shine Velvet Long Sleeve Draped Dress (seen on facing page) and the Night One Sleeved Wine Sequin Crepe Tuxedo Blazer Dress (this page) the last essentially a suit cut for the left side of the body, a brilliant and sequined mid-thigh length dress for the right.
