INDUSTRY: How did you get started modeling?
Gina Scrocca: I first started to play around
with aspects of photography before I became interested in being on the other end of the camera. I proceeded to construct a portfolio while posting more frequently on Instagram, soon to be discovered by Victoria’s Secret, who became my first major partnership.
From there, I decided to pursue modeling and influencing, which ultimately led to contracts with agencies such as Posh Models and MMG New York. IM: Tell us about some gigs you’ve done.
GS: In reference to my modeling and influ-encing career, I have participated annually
in New York Swim Week founded by Evita Scoccia, in which I had the opportunity to
walk the runway for several high-fashion designers. This particular highlight is espe-cially important to me as I was able to rep-resent petite models, specifically expanding upon the height standards within the fashion industry. Continually, I have partnered with several name brands such as Fashion Nova, Guess, Oh Polly, Rockstar Energy, and so on. Throughout my experiences, I have been
blessed to travel the U.S. in order to partner with other models, photographers, and busi-nesses within the industry in cities from
New York to Los Angeles. In addition, I have made appearances within music videos with well-known artists such as Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Gnar. Recently, I joined the Caddy Girls Talent Agency, which can be further seen on the TV show, Shark Tank. Through this partnership,
I received an extenuation of opportuni-
ties in association to working with major
media companies such as Barstool Sports
and Almost Friday. I am so thankful for the abundance of possibilities that my modeling career has unleashed for me and I am even more excited to see what the future holds. IM: What is your favorite thing about the spring season?
GS: Spring is such a rejuvenating season. I love seeing all of the bright-colored flowers bloom and the weather starting to get warmer once again. I especially have always admired Easter, as I am able to gather with my family and celebrate the holiday.
IM: Does your background influence your look?
GS: I am European, mostly Italian, with both of my parents having naturally dark features along with blue eyes. I would say my back-ground definitely influences my look, as this combination often portrays me as “exotic.” IM: Where are you currently living?
GS: I am currently residing in Yardley, Pennsylvania, just outside the outskirts of Philadelphia. However, upon my graduation within the next year I am planning to move to South Carolina in order to further pursue my career as a speech-language pathologist. IM: Tell us about your career.
GS: Alongside my modeling career, I am specializing in the field of speech-language pathology as a 4.0 graduate student in the University of South Carolina’s DE program. In addition to being a student myself, I have previously worked as a special education aid for children of various ages. Upon deciding to direct my attention toward speech-language pathology, I also decided to pursue my mod-eling career in tandem. In regards to model-ing and influencing, I have been represented through various media outlets such as maga-zines and websites, which ultimately resulted in a gain in exposure. Currently, I have grown my Instagram following to approximately 190K followers, which can be largely attrib-uted to previous partnerships and projects. Networking remains to be a large part of my career, as I have met so many amazing, like-minded individuals through my line of work.
