great escapes

Dior’s creative director Kim Jones took everyone through a voyage across the globe in the brand’s Spring-Summer 2023 collection, from founder Christian Dior’s birthplace in Granville, France, to British artist Duncan Grant’s country estate in Sussex. The lineup was envisioned for the modern man and featured a glorious fusion of Dior’s time-tested house codes: think sharp, expert tailoring, boundary-pushing shapes and silhouettes, and the brand’s famed urban aesthetic. A refi ned palette of cool grays, pinks, pastels, fi shing blues, and pastoral greens harkened back to the great outdoors, a nod to Granville, the bucolic oceanfront commune in the Normandy region of France that raised Christian Dior. Signature bar jackets were given the luxe treatment in silk organza, gillets were rendered in refl ective technical fabrics, and double-breasted coats were teamed with layered shorts. Sweaters bearing Grant’s art in needlework were crafted from reclaimed cashmere, while 3-D printing was explored in charming gardening hats in a seamless marrying of the past and present. dior.com
