INDUSTRY: How did you get started in modeling?
Donna Marie Homicki: I’m the first to break into modeling in my family. I did my first fashion show in 2009 when I was a makeup artist at Macy’s – they had asked me to do one for the store. But ever since I was little, people would always notice me and say, “you should get into modeling,” and I was very shy at the time, so I would reply with “no, not me.” But deep down, it was always a dream of mine.

Tell us about your modeling experience over the years.
I’ve represented different brands at trade shows, walked in fashion shows, appeared in commercials for boutiques and local businesses, did photoshoots for clothing companies, products, and hair brands, worked for different liquor companies, and have done projects with Posh Modeling Agency. I was also a Tropic Beauty World Finalist and a Red Carpet Hostess at a Maxim Hot 100 Party.

Did you always want to be a model?
I was a makeup artist first and I went to Paul Mitchell Beauty School for my cosmetology license. I’ve just always loved the beauty industry and being able to make people feel good about themselves. My thing about modeling is that nowadays so many girls are not wearing much clothing, and I want to be that one girl that other girls can look up to and see that you can be a model, but you can do it tastefully and classy. I’d rather be the one who’s respected by everyone. In all the work that I do, I always want to make my family proud. I always keep it very, very classy.

What are some of your other interests?
Modeling is something that I really do on the side now. My thing is that you don’t have to just focus on one thing, you can do it all. Right now, I am the director of a spa, so I’ve always been a business manager of some sort ever since college, and modeling has always been my second passion underneath what I do for a living. You can still be a boss and do everything!

I’m also a baker. I make fondant cakes, so I’m very artistic and creative. I’m also a huge foodie, I’m hopefully going to be starting a food blog soon. All my followers know me as going out to eat constantly and finding the next best restaurant to go to.

Where is home now?
I grew up in Clark. I moved down the shore right before I started high school and now, I live in Ocean Township. I love being right near the beach – I get to work right on the ocean at a beautiful resort. I live just 15 minutes from the beach, so I love this area and it’s where I want to stay.

Describe your personality in three words.
Genuine, caring, and intuitive.
What do you see for your future?
I can never just stick to one thing because my mind is constantly coming up with new ideas and directions to go in, so why not do it all? The sky is the limit.
