INDUSTRY: How did you get started
modeling?
JARRAH JERDO: Runway shows in my parent’s kitchen to go way back! But
I got my true start with the Hooters Calendar in 2018. Calendar season is actually happening right now so I’m excited to see if I’ll get chosen to shoot for it again this year.
IM: Tell us about some gigs you’ve
done.
JJ: I’ve done tons of different gigs, from music videos to car commer- cials, swimwear and lingerie to bridal. I’ve also done some awesome promo gigs and many runway shows! And I’ve worked with restaurants as well to shoot/promote them. Those are always so fun!
IM: What is your favorite thing about
the spring season?
JJ: I love the sunny days of spring. I recently moved back to New York and have been enjoying the sunshine peek- ing out to say, “Warmer days are on their way!” [Laughs]
IM: Does your background influence
your look?
JJ: I would say so, yes! At least style- wise. I love anything bold and fun, and always a statement piece. As far as looks, I feel like I’m constantly trying new hairstyles and makeup, but you can’t beat a full glam moment in my opinion.
IM: Where are you currently living? JJ: I’m currently in Upstate New York, but I know that’s not where I’ll stay long term. It’s great to be back with friends and family but I have an itch
I have to scratch and that is to move closer to a major city for sure.
IM: Tell us about your career.
JJ: My career is forever evolving. I think as a child I just wanted to be like the women I would see on TV. I feel like I’ve done a lot of fun things, met a lot
of amazing people, and have been navi- gating the industry for long enough to know that there’s still so much I don’t know, and figuring myself out in the process has been my favorite part. I’ve definitely achieved things that little me would be proud of, and that makes me so happy! My biggest achieve-
ment of the year thus far was being featured on a few billboards in Times Square thanks to Krissy King, Angel Sample Cosmetics, and Supermodel’s Unlimited. Along with modeling, I’m also acting, and I’m excited to see how that pans out.
IM: What do you hope for your future? JJ: I hope I can continue doing things that make me feel alive and excited for as long as I can. My goal for this year is to book another commercial, and walk in more runway shows. Outside of that, I want to become a healthier version of myself more each day, and have a million more memories with my bulldog, Bruce.
IM: What are a few of your favorite
things?
JJ: My dog is my favorite ever – I truly thank God for him every day! I also love trying new things. From food to experi- ences, I just love the thrill of it. Music for sure, and, of course, my friends, my family, and the man upstairs.
IM: How would you describe your per- sonality in three words?
JJ: Quirky, empathetic, kind.
IM: What did you always want to be when you were growing up?
JJ: An actress/model and at one point an astrophysicist and lawyer.
IM: Is there anything else you’d like
to share with us?
JJ: The industry is filled with highs and lows, but I’m going to keep on trucking until I reach a point where I feel like I truly “did it” – for younger me, future me, and current me.
