WITH A FRONT-ROW SEAT TO THE BREATHTAKING PANORAMA OF BISCAYNE BAY, FOUR SEASONS PRIVATE RESIDENCES COCONUT GROVE BRINGS A LONG-TERM RESIDENTIAL MODEL TO ONE OF MIAMI’S MOST ECLECTIC NEIGHBORHOODS
BY EMMA FLOYD
Set within Coconut Grove, Miami’s oldest neighborhood famed for its vibrant bohemian character, Four Seasons Private Residences Coconut Grove reflects a part of the city defined by residential continuity rather than constant reinvention. The neighborhood’s relationship to Biscayne Bay and its historic streets distinguish it from much of Miami’s newer development. That distinction shapes not only how the residences take form, but how they operate on a daily level.

The building’s architecture, designed by Revuelta Architecture International, builds on that premise not with record-shattering height, but through scale and proportion. With just 70 waterfront homes, the structure extends outward, using broad terraces and layered volumes to create a horizontal profile aligned with the surrounding neighborhood. Soft curves and floor-to-ceiling glass walls respond to the landscape, reflecting natural silhouettes while maintaining a clear presence along the coastline.

The terraces function as true outdoor spaces, with 11-foot ceilings extending into expansive curved balconies that funnel Biscayne Bay directly into each residence. Inside, Florentine designer Michele Bönan created interiors that blend coastal ease with European craftsmanship. Inspired by Coconut Grove’s iconic bohemia and lush landscape, the spaces feel composed rather than styled. Natural linens, raffias, and stone surfaces in soft, light tones create an atmosphere that is calm and deliberate. Layouts remain clear and practical. Living spaces connect naturally to dining areas, while bedrooms stay separate and acoustically isolated. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors by German manufacturer Schüco maximize natural light and airflow, reinforcing a seamless relationship between indoors and out, space and sky.

The kitchens by Molteni&C follow the same logic, pairing Italian design principles with modern functionality. The materials and finishes are selected for longevity and daily use, supporting both everyday cooking and formal entertaining. Bathrooms are dressed in Calacatta and Carrara marble, with Italian travertine floors and freestanding tubs positioned to capture water views. This approach reflects a Four Seasons residential framework shaped by decades of hospitality experience, where expertise in service, maintenance, and daily logistics informs how the building functions for full-time living.

At Coconut Grove, that framework operates quietly. Services are integrated into the building’s rhythm rather than layered on top of it, allowing residents to move through private and shared spaces without interruption. What distinguishes the experience is reliability over time, a Four Seasons hallmark applied to residential living.

Leading the project is CMC Group’s Ugo Colombo, a Miami-based real estate developer behind many of the city’s most lavish residential towers. Rather than pursuing visibility through scale or novelty, his developments emphasize proportion, material quality, and operational durability. That approach aligns naturally with Coconut Grove, where residential continuity has remained central to the neighbor hood’s identity for more than a century. The project reinforces this perspective by focusing on how the building will age, operate, and integrate into its surroundings over the coming decades.

Amenities are incorporated as functional extensions of residential life rather than visual statements. The ground level features an intimate library and a residents-only bar lounge designed by Bönan, spaces intended for daily use, casual gatherings, or moments of quiet reflection. The spa and wellness center extends that sensibility. Alongside a range of sumptuous treatment rooms, the comprehensive healing center includes the Caesar Experience, a contrast bath circuit inspired by Roman thermae. Residents move through five rooms with varying temperatures and humidity levels, from the Tepidarium to the Laconium. Finnish saunas, an indoor pool for year-round hydrotherapy, and dedicated wellness spaces complete the offerings.

A fitness center sits adjacent to a quiet yoga studio, supporting routines from strength training to meditation. Personal trainers can be arranged through concierge services, extending the residential infrastructure beyond the building itself. Outdoor space plays a central role in daily life. Landscape design is woven throughout the property, shaping circulation and shared areas while reinforcing the connection to Coconut Grove’s natural environment. Gardens, palms, and planted zones soften transitions between private and shared spaces, allowing outdoor areas to function as part of everyday living.

What ultimately distinguishes Four Seasons Private Residences Coconut Grove is how it settles into its surroundings rather than dominating them. In a neighborhood defined by longevity, established streets, and a walkable mix of dining and cultural spaces, the project does not attempt to reshape its context. It operates within it, allowing architecture, services, and daily routines to become part of the Grove’s fabric over time.
