The irreverent and gloriously unfiltered Chelsea Handler has built a career on sharp timing and sharper punchlines. Now, she’s channeling her signature sass into a vodka lemonade line that’s light, clean, and legitimately good

“When I was a young entrepreneur, I realized I could make a lot more money if I spiked my lemonade,” Chelsea Handler wrote in her 2025 book I’ll Have What She’s Having. “Next thing I knew, I was able to upgrade myself to first class on a family vacation and left the rest of my family in coach.”

Not coincidentally, Handler’s book (the seventh of her career) was released within a few weeks of the rollout of the comedian’s new line of vodka lemonade. Of course, anyone who’s followed Handler’s career over the years shouldn’t be surprised by this collaboration, given that she literally has a book titled Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea. Still, it’s one thing to collaborate with a vodka drink manufacturer, but it’s quite another to tie it into a book release. Then again, when the manufacturer in question is famed for its “Boozy Book Club,” it all makes sense.

“I had been down this road before in this business – trying to come up with the perfect cocktail that’s emblematic of who I am: light, on-the-go, fresh, clean, crisp, healthy, not very caloric,” Handler told Forbes in November 2025. “They never got past the point where I could drink something that didn’t have a metallic aftertaste or where the lemon tasted natural. So I just gave up on it for a while. When the book came around, my agents and managers were like, ‘This is a cute idea, going from your lemonade stand to making an adult lemonade beverage.’ Then we met with both of the founders from Owl’s Brew. The first meeting was at nine in the morning in my hotel. They brought dozens of samples, and they nailed it. I was like, ‘Oh, I should have been working with women this whole time.’”
