MERCEDES-BENZ REVS UP LUXURY LIVING WITH NEWLY UNVEILED PLANS TO BUILD ITS FIRST U.S. RESIDENTIAL SUPERTOWER IN THE HEART OF MIAMI
BY ARCHANA AITHAL ROSE
Roaring toward the Florida sun in the pulsating neighborhood of Brickell, where it will share a skyscape with glittering edifices like the Panorama Tower, Brickell Flatiron, and the Four Seasons Hotel, Mercedes-Benz Places is set for ascension, breaking ground earlier this year. The vision of JDS Development Group with design by the New York-based studio SHoP Architects, the 67-story, mixed-use skyscraper will rise a dizzying 761 feet above ground and span 2.5 million square feet.
Renderings of the building depict multiple rectangular volumes stacked in alternating, perpendicular directions, all designed in the luxury automotive marque’s signature colors: black, white, and technical silver. With an exterior facade of gleaming glass and steel, each floor is adorned with curved-corner balconies overlooking the booming Brickell nabe. There will be 791 luxurious Mercedes-Benz-branded residences in total, ranging from sunny studios to palatial three-bedroom mega-condos, plus an additional 200,000 square feet of ultra-modern office space, state-of-the-art health and fitness areas, retail space, and resident-exclusive amenities.
According to the brand’s chief design officer, Gordan Wagner, “The building will seamlessly blend the Mercedes-Benz aesthetic, adhering to its cube-like structure and infusing its ‘sensual purity’ ethos into its design philosophy.”
