GET PHYSICAL WITH HERMÈSFIT, A STRING OF ULTRALUXURIOUS GYM POP-UPS AROUND THE WORLD
BY ARCHANA AITHAL ROSE
Hermès’ foray into fitness doesn’t come as a surprise. Long before the French luxury brand even dreamed of opening bespoke gyms on multiple continents, they have been quietly teasing us with their exclusive line of fitness affiliated products. From agility-enduring belts to light-as-a-feather kicks, the sleek sweat-ready looks have encouraged the brand’s discerning clientele to as Hermès cheekily put it exercise their style. In a rousing next step, the fashion house has stationed gym pop-ups in major cities across the globe, from Taipei to Paris and Shanghai to Brooklyn. Dubbed HermèsFit, the custom fitness centers are unsurprisingly chic, marked by signature tangerine walls with spaces to do yoga, kick box (with gloves embellished with their silk carré prints, of course), and lift weights using branded kettle bells. Quirky horse-shaped dumbbells pay homage to the atelier’s equestrian roots, while a resident fitness coach teaches Voguing with hats and stretching with scarves, making working out both fun and fabulous.
