BORN: Stuart Price on September 9, 1977, in Paris, France.

SOUND: Depending on what kind of genre mood he’s in, Price’s sound ranges from ’80s-inspired electro (as Les Rythmes Digitales) to sleek synth-pop (with Zoot Woman) to glossy, widescreen house music under aliases including Paper Faces, Jacques Lu Cont, and more than a few others.

BIG BREAK: Though he began recording with the British indie-pop band Zoot Woman in 1995, it was his solo work as Les Rythmes Digitales that first put him on the map. While born in France, Price was raised in Reading, England, but that didn’t stop him from initially presenting himself as a French electronic artist – even going so far as to give interviews in French through an interpreter. His breakthrough came with the infectious single “Jacques Your Body (Make Me Sweat),” which exploded after being featured in a popular British television ad campaign.

NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Though he’s achieved considerable success as a solo artist, Price’s greatest achievements have come as a producer and remixer for some of the biggest names in pop music, collaborating with Madonna, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Coldplay, Dua Lipa, and Pet Shop Boys, among many others. He’s collected three Grammys – two for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical, and one for producing Madonna’s Confessions on a Dance Floor – and received three additional nominations.

LATEST WORK: Price reunited with Madonna to co-produce her latest album, Confessions II, the long-awaited sequel to 2005’s Grammy-nabbing LP.
