HYDRATION FIXATION
Slacking on your vitamin and mineral intake? Suffering from a migraine or jet lag, or perhaps nursing a hangover? IV Hydration Infusion Drips might offer a cure. The therapy, which is now being offered at Avanti Day Resort in Manalapan, is a method of feeding vitamins, minerals, and other restorative substances directly into the bloodstream, providing stress relief, detoxification of the liver, a strengthened immune system, and increased energy levels. This is just one treatment for this spa, nail emporium, executive retreat, café, and boutique one named by Elle magazine as one of its “Top 100 Salons in America.”

Avanti currently offers six varieties of the service, each administered by a registered nurse. They range in price from $40 for a B12 injection to $250 for migraine cocktail that also delivers the healing properties of magnesium. A “Dehydration Drip” and “Enhanced Wellness Drip” feeds a week’s worth of vitamins into the body in one shot. 345 Route 9, Manalapan, avantidayresort.com

A LITTLE LIFT
Years ago, if you suffered from signs of aging, a surgical facelift was the only cure. But today, Botox and other dermal fillers have become a common and quick resolution for pesky wrinkles and other lines on the face.

“There are a number of options that can be administered quickly and easily at lunchtime or otherwise during a patients’ downtime,” noted Dr. Peter Hyans, medical director of Summit Medical Group’s Plastic Surgery Center. “Nonsurgical facial rejuvenation procedures Botox, fillers, Kybella, Ultherapy, and Fraxel are some of our most popular procedures.”

Hyans explained that dermal fillers, which work in conjunction with Botox, are a good option for patients who do not want to undergo invasive surgery and desire a subtle result. Kybella, an injectable just approved by the FDA in 2015, helps reduce “submental fullness,” excessive fatty tissue under the chin that causes mild sagging of the neck.

There’s Ultherapy, too, the first non-invasive radiofrequency technology to earn an FDA indication for lifting and tightening the skin. And skin resurfacing techniques like Fraxel remove that tissue’s top layer to allow the fresh, healthier, and smoother layer underneath to become the new surface. These procedures can improve fine lines or wrinkles, scars, acne scars and brown spots. 1 Diamond Hill Road, Berkeley Heights; 150 Park Avenue, Florham Park; 131 Madison Avenue, Morristown; 6 Brighton Road, Clifton, plasticsurgerysmg.com
